Patches: a beauty trend that cannot be ignored
The Taiki stand featured patches in all their forms and for all kinds of skin concerns, with a dedicated bar.
"There is a real demand from brands for these skincare products, which are appealing to the younger generation, but not only to them. Patches, specially designed for blemishes, are becoming increasingly popular on social networks, particularly TikTok. Young people film themselves wearing their patches, praising their effectiveness, and adopting them as fashion accessories," explains Alix Bellanné, Marketing & Communications Director at Taiki.
This year, Taiki presented three new products: the Microneedle Patch, the Silicone Eye Patch, and the Eye Patch Cure.
The Microneedle Patch (available in two formats: to cover a pimple or the lower eye contour) contains hundreds of needles - and thousands for the second - of hyaluronic acid. This exclusive system for topical delivery of active ingredients is highly effective while remaining non-invasive and painless. The water-soluble needles are activated by the skin’s moisture and release the cosmetic solution slowly and over a long period.
The Silicone Eye Patch is a reusable food-grade silicone mask for the eye area. It helps retain serums and creams, reinforcing their effectiveness. It is washable so it can be used again and again, thereby reducing the use of disposable products. And, of course, brands can customise their shape, decoration and even packaging.
Finally, the Eye Patch Cure is an eco-friendly solution for the eye contour area. The box can contain between fifteen and thirty patches made from lyocell, organic cotton, banana,... These are pre-soaked with a standard or personalised formula, made in France. This product considerably reduces packaging: the recyclable and recycled jar avoids the use of thirty single sachets. It also reduces formula wastage.
Make-up puffs are back in vogue
"Totally out of favour for years, triangle puffs made a comeback last year thanks to a complexion make-up trend on TikTok. We sold an impressive number of them last year," continues Alix Bellanné.
This year, Taiki presented two miniature versions of its puffs, which can be used with a finger to apply eye and cheek make-up: the Finger Cushion Puff and the Mini Velvet Puff. Both products can be customised in terms of colour and shape. On the Finger Cushion Puff, it is even possible to add a screen-printed logo or printed patterns (digital printing).
A range of brushes made of 100% recycled synthetic fibres
Finally, Taiki also presented its new range of make-up brushes, called FibRelon, made from 100% recycled synthetic fibres derived from plastic waste from household electronic products. The use of 100% recycled PBT significantly reduces the use of virgin petrochemicals. Vegan and ethical fibres (100% animal-free) offer softness and performance on par with traditional synthetic fibres. When it comes to the handles, there is a wide and varied choice of colours, shapes, and materials; FSC-certified sustainable wood is just one of the options.
