Japanese cosmetic company Kosé Corporation has announced the opening of its first stand-alone store in the US. Named Maison Kosé, the store has opened on June 7 at The Shops at Santa Anita in Los Angeles, CA [1], and integrates shopping with entertainment, education, technology, and local community interaction.
According to Kosé, the store will play a key role in promoting the culture of Japanese Beauty (J-Beauty) in the US market and its portfolio of skincare, makeup, hair care and wellness brands, including Decorté and Sekkisei.
The store is taking a cross-branded approach to beauty offering bestselling products from Japan that will help consumers with their individual beauty and grooming needs. Beauty consultants will be on hand to offer solutions and beauty rituals tailored to each customer and their needs. “They will help guide the journey through the store and elevate the Maison Kosé experience,” said the brand in a statement.
The new Maison Kosé includes a special area dedicated to the group’s global ambassador and baseball star, Shohei Ohtani, from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The store will feature a “Fan-tastic stadium” make-up experience for children and adults to look great at the baseball game.
Other features include a personalized skincare experience — dubbed #HealingMeTime — designed to help reinvigorate and heal tired skin that has been exposed to the strong ultraviolet rays of Los Angeles. Customers will have the opportunity to receive a 3D image of their face scanned by a skin diagnostic machine. They will also receive a recommended skincare regimen and skincare samples based on the diagnosis.
“Maison Kosé is a place for people to get inspired, to be entertained, to learn something new, and to discover beauty rituals right for them. It is a unique shopping experience and a beacon as well to beauty aficionadas looking for the best of Japanese Beauty,” said the group.
