Albéa (previously Alcan Packaging Beauty) just acquired the Betts group, one of the world’s leading producer of printed laminate tubes for the oral care and personal care sectors.
Betts operates manufacturing facilities in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Poland, Indonesia and India supplying more than 2 billion tubes to customers in more than 45 countries. As one of the largest companies to focus solely on laminate tubes, Betts has become a preferred supplier to the world’s leading fast moving consumer goods companies and has a wide range of regional customers.
With this new acquisition, Albéa becomes the global leader in plastic and laminate tubes and reinforces its positions in emerging markets, especially India. It should help the company to further develop its product portfolio across the multiple segments of the beauty market including make-up, skincare, fragrance and oral care.
“This acquisition is a strategic fit for both Albéa and Betts” explained Francois Luscan, Président & CEO Albéa. “The companies have complementary technologies, geographical footprint, product portfolio and R&D resources that will enable the combined entity to provide a broader product offering, increased innovation and development capacity, and a more versatile, global manufacturing footprint.”
With the integration of Betts Group, Albéa operates 31 plants in 13 countries.
